Hidden in a remote village in Benin, a small church has faithfully gathered to worship for more than 30 years. When Gospel Joy's trainers arrived with Audio Bible Studies, they witnessed a powerful reminder that God never forgets His people.

We’re excited to announce our next audio Bible study: the Gospel of John. This study will guide leaders and learners through Jesus’ life, teachings, and divinity in a way that’s clear, engaging, and accessible for oral learners. From writing the three-part study in English, to careful editing for accuracy and clarity, and finally translating and recording in French, each step ensures the Gospel of John comes to life for thousands of listeners across francophone Africa.

Through our partnership with Biblica, Gospel Joy International is bringing Scripture to life for women who cannot read — in languages they understand and love. Access to the NIV and Ewe Bible allows us to create faithful, Scripture-based audio Bible studies that reach thousands across rural Africa with the transforming truth of God’s Word.

Gospel Joy trainings are intentionally designed to cover foundational Christian teachings, encourage them in their faith, and equip them to lead an audio Bible study.

Over twenty-six people were trained in Benin, the birthplace of Voodism. During the training, many gave their lives to the Lord and now they are eagerly using GJI’s audio Bible Studies. Read the full blog.

We often forget the influence women have, even in our own culture, but especially in rural Africa. Women are the backbone to rural village life. Supporting their spiritual development is important to the long-term depth of the church in Africa.  

Imagine sitting in a church that has a dirt floor, wood slatted walls, and wood benches. The preacher is up speaking and you are curious about what he says about a certain passage of the Bible. Yet you don’t possess the skills to go home and learn more.

Many people ask why Gospel Joy produced a Bible study on the book of Colossians. They wonder if it is a favorite book or if there was a revelation from the Lord.

Early February we received a text message from our partners in Zambia, John and Beauty. Their compound where the live and do ministry was flooded due to excessive rain. The storm tore off the roof, ruined ministry equipment like the speaker, spoiled their mattresses, and more.

Beauty is a pastor in Ndola, Zambia where she and her husband have a church and ministry to their neighborhood and widows.

When I was nineteen I spent a few hours at the port city of Jaffa, Israel. This ancient port is where Jonah, the prophet in the Old Testament, hired a boat and fled in the opposite direction of where God told him to go. I spent an hour sitting on a pier, with old and new boats floating in the glimmering Mediterranean Sea while I read the book of Jonah.
