Beauty’s Story

Beauty is a pastor in Ndola, Zambia where she and her husband have a church and ministry to their neighborhood and widows. For four years Beauty held Bible Studies with the women in the church by using a popular American study that had a DVD component and written component. However due to the cultural and language differences they would spend a month going through one forty-five minute lesson. They would pause and translate, sort through cultural references in order to get to the meat of the study. These women are hungry for God’s word and despite the challenges they faced, they consistently met. 

Beauty was given the Jonah audio Bible study in English, which contains six lessons. The women were done with the entire study in a month, asking for the next one to be sent straight away. Beauty was excited that she finally had a study that the women could easily understand without American cultural references and, not only that, had relevant application questions that fit the lives and trials the women faced day to day. The Gospel Joy audio Bible study allowed them to grow deeply in understanding the word of God and in their personal relationship with Christ. 

Since receiving the first study, the women at Beauty’s church have used multiple studies and continue to be a testing site for new studies before they are launched to the general public.
