At Gospel Joy International, our desire is to equip leaders in Africa with tools that help them multiply disciples and bring God’s Word to life in oral learning contexts. The most powerful way we do this is through audio Bible studies, and the next step in expanding our library is a study on the book of John. But why John? And how will this study reach thousands of listeners? Here’s a look at the journey ahead.
Why the Book of John?
The Gospel of John is rich with deep theology and clear storytelling. It highlights the life, teachings, and divinity of Jesus in a way that is both profound and accessible. For leaders and learners alike, John offers an opportunity to encounter Jesus personally, understand His mission, and grow in faith. By creating a dedicated study on this Gospel, we’re helping leaders guide others to not just hear God’s Word, but experience it deeply.
Phase 1: Seed the John Study
Every great study starts with strong content. In this phase, we are writing a three-part study in English, carefully structuring it to engage learners orally. The focus is on helping listeners grasp key themes, ask meaningful questions, and see how John’s message applies to their lives and communities. This phase is all about planting the seeds of understanding that will grow into lasting spiritual transformation.
Phase 2: Editing
Accuracy matters. In the second phase, experienced editors review the study to ensure theological soundness and clarity for oral learners. This step guarantees that the study is faithful to Scripture and understandable for anyone listening, even without formal literacy. The goal is to make the Gospel approachable, memorable, and transformational.
Phase 3: Translate & Record in French
Finally, the study comes to life for thousands of listeners. Once translated into French, the study is recorded so it can reach francophone communities across Africa. This audio format allows pastors, church leaders, and community members to engage with God’s Word wherever they are—on the farm, on the road, or in small groups—making discipleship accessible and reproducible.
