Board of Directors Information

The GJI Board is looking to expand and grow its current board of directors and is actively seeking individuals who are interested in contributing to the work of Gospel Joy Int’l.

What is a Board?

A nonprofit board of directors serves as the strategic leadership team responsible for governing the organization, setting its mission and vision, and ensuring legal and financial accountability. Board members provide critical oversight, make key decisions about leadership and resources, and act as stewards who protect the organization's long-term sustainability while championing its core purpose and values.

The goal of Gospel Joy’s board

In addition to what is listed above, Gospel Joy’s aim is to have a working board. This means that board members serve as strategic leaders and also active operational participants, creating and implementing the organization's directives. A working board member often takes on tasks that go beyond traditional governance roles, actively participating in the organization's day-to-day operations. Some examples of tasks a working board member could perform include:

  • Actively introducing staff to prospective donors

  • Spearheading fundraising events such as our Gala

  • Managing the finances and overseeing budgets to ensure responsible use of funds

  • Handling the strategic plan process and facilitating conversations

  • Editing the Bible study manuscripts for theological accuracy

  • Building a website or creating videos and/or social media content

  • Other gifts or talents you can offer

An expected commitment is 3-4 hours a month, with quarterly board meetings which are typically held virtually in the evening. It takes people with various skillsets to ensure the success of Gospel Joy. If you think you have a skill or desire to help, please reach out to us at communications@gospeljoy.org for more information.
